For some, life is hard these days. But should this be the reason that other people think of cheating?
Last Sunday, before the 2nd worship service ends, I and a good friend left Folk Arts for a Kids outreach in Marikina. We did not waste our time. Immediately,
we found ourselves sitting in a white cab bound to MRT Station in Pasay Rotonda. On the next few minutes, we were arguing with the driver since he was insisting that the flag down rate has increased to 60 pesos. That’s double with the current rate of 30.
I then thought of this verse:
The LORD abhors dishonest scales,
but accurate weights are his delight.- Proverbs 11:1NIV
But I like how The Message says it:
God hates cheating in the marketplace; he loves it when business is aboveboard.
Maybe he thought he gained from us. I just encouraged myself that I lose nothing. I know that the Lord is just and one day the offender will pay the price.
We Filipinos are known for “bayanihan”. When calamities strike, you can always see fellow Pinoys helping other kababayans. In this time of crisis, the bayanihan spirit should be alive. We are all affected by the crisis but this should not be the reason for us to take advantage of others.
The new taxi fare announced this evening was P40.00 which will take effect any day within this week.
Psalm 1:6 NIV
6 For the LORD watches over the way of the righteous,
but the way of the wicked will perish.
